High school students can elect art classes in drawing and painting, studio art, photography, 3D design, digital imaging, digital video, and graphic design.
For students pursuing a career in Graphic Design and Visual Communication, an intensive class builds skills in high demand in online retailing, computer graphics, entertainment, photography, and digital and print publications. Students solve design problems from concept to completion using the latest industry-standard software programs such as Adobe Illustrator© and Adobe Photoshop.©
Throughout the year, students build their portfolios and prepare works for design competitions. Recent award-winning designs include a "Distracted Driving" billboard for State Farm Insurance/Michigan State Police and poster art for the North American International Auto Show. Student work has also appeared around Howell for the Downtown Development District, Howell District Library, Howell Dragon Run, and the Rotary Club's "Tour de Livingston."
