Temporary Shift in Learning Environments During
Highlander Way Middle School Renovation
During the November 10, 2025, Board of Education meeting, the Board received an update on current projects funded by the Our Kids, Our Community, Our Future Bond, as well as the major renovations planned for Highlander Way Middle School and their impact on students and staff. As part of that update, the district’s construction management firm recommended that Highlander Way Middle School be fully vacated for the 2026–2027 and 2027–2028 school years to ensure safety, a positive learning environment, and efficiency during construction.
While this transition will be temporary, the renovations at Highlander Way Middle School will provide modern, safe, and inspiring learning spaces for generations of Highlanders to come. The district will continue to share updates, host information sessions, and give families opportunities to tour the spaces before the transition.
