Highlander Nation Invited to Help Name New Community Center
Posted on 09/14/2026
Howell Public Schools is inviting students, staff, families and community members to submit name suggestions for the district’s new community center, which is being funded through the Our Kids, Our Community, Our Future Bond.
Until now, the facility has simply been referred to as the community center project. As the district prepares for groundbreaking this fall, it is beginning the process of selecting a permanent name that reflects Howell’s history, looks toward the future and represents the center’s role as a gathering place for students, families, staff and the broader community.
students, staff, families and community members are invited to submit name suggestions through Oct. 23 at https://bit.ly/4r9yilF.
Following the submission period, the Howell Public Schools Board of Education and district administration will review the suggestions and develop a shortlist of potential names. The community will then be invited to provide feedback on the finalists before the Board of Education makes a final decision, which is expected in January 2027.
