Dear Families,
To say it has been a tough week would be an understatement. With the tragedy that occurred in Oxford weighing on us, we have also dealt with several rumors and a few threats deemed non-credible by law enforcement. As I have shared in my various communications this week, we take the safety of our students and staff incredibly seriously. We will continue to do everything we can to ensure that our students come to a safe and caring learning environment each day.
Today marks the end of our annual district-wide canned food drive. The drive is organized by students in the high school’s leadership class and supports Gleaners Community Food Bank. All of the donated items stay right here in Livingston County to help families in need. While we do not yet know the total number of items donated, I have been so impressed with the generosity of our community.
Teams KAOS, KILTS, KRASH, and KUDOS, our FIRST Tech Challenge middle school robotics teams are having an outstanding season so far. The teams have earned numerous awards and advanced to the playoff matches at their various competitions. Based on these honors, all four teams have earned a trip to the FIRST in Michigan FIRST Tech Challenge state finals that will be held in Battle Creek on December 17 and 18.
