This November, the Howell High School Performing Arts Department will bring the Tony Award-winning play “Peter and the Starcatcher” to the stage of the Rod Bushey Performing Arts Center. “Peter and the Starcatcher” will be performed Friday, November 8 and Saturday, November 9 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, November 10 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. “Peter and the Starcatcher” upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan comes to be The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up (a.k.a. Peter Pan). In the play, a young orphan named Peter (Jack Cascarelli) and his mates are shipped off from Victorian England to a distant island ruled by the evil King Zarboff. They know nothing of the mysterious trunk in the captain’s cabin, which contains a precious, otherworldly cargo. At sea, the boys are discovered by a precocious young girl named Molly (Laine Wyatt), a Starcatcher-in-training who realizes that the trunk’s precious cargo is starstuff, a celestial substance so powerful that it must never fall into the wrong hands. When the ship is taken over by pirates led by the fearsome Black Stache (Nic Bishop), a villain determined to claim the trunk and its treasure for his own, the journey quickly becomes a thrilling adventure.

Additional cast members of “Peter and the Starcatcher” include Prentiss (Seth Taylor), Ted (Ben Dean) Lord Aster (Colin DeWitt), Mrs. Bumbrake (Grant Stocker), Smee (Nelson Hull), Alf (Danny Maura), Grempkin (Josie Madzik), Captain Scott (Nicole Krakowiak), Sanchez (Devin Douglas), Bill Slank (Tim Atkins), Fighting Prawn (Justin Kerchen Famatiga) and Hawking Clam (Autumn Mullins), Teacher (Bella Golembiewski), Mack (Emily Kasprzak) and Bard (Olivia LaCommare).
